About Me

batman.jpg Hello! I’m Georgi.

I live in Tbilisi, Georgia with my mama and papa.

In the summer of 2007 I felt poorly and went to sleep for a long time. When I woke up again I couldn’t do any of the things I used to. I couldn’t move, talk or open my eyes, and I didn’t know why. I’m a lot better now but I’m still learning how to walk and talk - though I can use a computer and play on my PlayStation!

The picture on the right was me a few months before I fell ill. I don’t remember much about falling ill, but I remember everything from before.

georgi-feb2009.jpg This is me about 2 years later - and, more or less, as I am now. I’m a normal little boy - I just can’t walk or talk very much, though I try my hardest.

Most days I have to sit in the house, which isn’t nice - especially in the summer when I can hear everyone playing outside. I like it when it rains. I like playing on my computer and watching US5 on YouTube. I hope they come to Tbilisi so I can go and watch them.

I’m a Russian speaking Georgian, but Papa is English, so we sit together and he writes what I want to say. I don’t understand everything he says, but my english is a lot better than it used to be - I know a lot of the english letters because that’s what is on my keyboard and I can type some words in english now.

Please consider making a kind donation to help to look after Georgi. He’s getting bigger now and he needs 24/7 care from two adults. Unfortunately Georgi lives in a country with a nearly non-existent social services system, so the government only provides about $30 a month, which just about covers the cost of his physiotherapist for a couple of visits. Without a regular income in the house even basic care for Georgi is becoming impossible.
